Sampling & Certification

We sample and collect hop bales from the farms

Pesticide Residue Testing

We send testing samples to independent, certified laboratories in order to check compliance with approved residue levels

Alpha Testing | Hop quality assurance

We test sample bales in our on-site laboratory using LCV analysis according to EBC (European Brewing Convention) method 7.4. 

Alpha Testing

Delivery To Stores

Hop bales are delivered to Charles Faram 0° stores in the UK as well as Yakima.

Hops are delivered to Charles Faram and stored in our 0 degree cold store - to ensure Hop Quality Assurance remains high

Moisture Testing

Additionally, we test bales with a moisture meter to ensure they are below 12% moisture

Grading

Faram’s inspect samples for quality and grading, then accept or reject the hops, thereby ensuring the best hops.

Shipping

We keep our US and New Zealand hops 100% cold from the day they are picked. Furthermore, our US Yakima facility and our partners at New Zealand Hops act as staging points for quality checks and the safe onward shipment of hops to the UK.

Customer Selections

Packaging

Our cartons are made from 100% recycled material and are also recyclable. Additionally our foils have to be lightweight and easy to handle whilst preventing the ingress of moisture, oxygen and light, yet strong enough to keep the packs intact

Storage

Some brewers take delivery of all their hops for the year as soon as they are ready, whereas Charles Faram 0° stores most hops for call-off or spot sales, ensuring the highest quality hops.

Charles Faram hops are distributed to breweries all around the world. Additionally, partners are reviewed regularly to ensure the best service and rates available
