We recognise the importance of ensuring the best quality practices from Farm to Faram. Additionally, we work with growers throughout the year on pesticides, fertilisers, and sustainability.
Discussing optimum picking times, as well as the quality of samples, stock, and operation
We sample and collect hop bales from the farms
We send testing samples to independent, certified laboratories in order to check compliance with approved residue levels
We test sample bales in our on-site laboratory using LCV analysis according to EBC (European Brewing Convention) method 7.4.Â
Hop bales are delivered to Charles Faram 0° stores in the UK as well as Yakima.
Additionally, we test bales with a moisture meter to ensure they are below 12% moisture
Faram’s inspect samples for quality and grading, then accept or reject the hops, thereby ensuring the best hops.
We keep our US and New Zealand hops 100% cold from the day they are picked. Furthermore, our US Yakima facility and our partners at New Zealand Hops act as staging points for quality checks and the safe onward shipment of hops to the UK.
Brewers make batch selections for their next hop contract
Our cartons are made from 100% recycled material and are also recyclable. Additionally our foils have to be lightweight and easy to handle whilst preventing the ingress of moisture, oxygen and light, yet strong enough to keep the packs intact
Some brewers take delivery of all their hops for the year as soon as they are ready, whereas Charles Faram 0° stores most hops for call-off or spot sales, ensuring the highest quality hops.
Charles Faram hops are distributed to breweries all around the world. Additionally, partners are reviewed regularly to ensure the best service and rates available
