BREWERY RESOURCE ROADSHOW: OVER & OUT
BROUGHT TO YOU BY CHARLES FARAM & OUR SUPPLIER PARTNERS
On 14th May, Charles Faram and our supplier partners welcomed over 80 brewers, and industry experts through the iconic doors of Aston Villa Football Stadium for this year’s Brewery Resource Roadshow! It was a day packed with interactive seminars, valuable conversations, and remarkable opportunities.
One of the standout moments was the amazing and at times emotional chance to meet some of the world’s best hop growers in person, all in the same room! Attendees were introduced to an international line-up including the Puterbaugh family from Yakima (US), Angela Wentz from Virgil Gamache Farms – discoverers of Amarillo® Hops, Blair Stewart representing New Zealand Hops, Boštjan Taish from Slohops -Slovenia, and our very own Charles Faram Farms Chairman, Richie Phillips.

Brewing seminars
The highlight panel session, “From Bine to Brew – Hops from Around the World,” offered a rare look into the growers’ personal stories, family heritage, and future plans. It was a unique opportunity to connect with the people behind your favourite hop varieties, such as Amarillo®, Harlequin® and Styrian Wolf™, and hear first hand about the world of hops and their growers.
There was an emotional end message from Stacey Puterbaugh, “We’re all struggling, keep doing what you’re doing and we’ll work through it together”.
The brewing seminars didn’t stop there. Crisp Malt treated us to a flavour-packed malt tea tasting session, showcasing their malts in a tasty and sensory way. We heard how to ‘stop the clock and brew everlasting freshness’ using Murphy and Son’s range of brewing aids. While Fermentis focused on their latest range of lager yeast, Weyermann® demonstrated how to get the best of lo and no beers, and Rankin announced their plans for more sustainable end closures.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this year’s Brewery Resource Roadshow, we hope you loved it as much as we did! If you couldn’t make it this time, don’t worry. Until next time! Cheers.
