– This is the third instalment of the Hop Heats series in collaboration with Buxton Brewery… Same base beer, same brewery but very different hops
– Each year Buxton have produced 4 brilliant beers using our experimental varieties to put them to the test… and who will be victorious
THE CHARLES FARAM HOP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
– The Charles Faram Hop Development Programme is driving the force in BRAND NEW British hops
– The Programme focuses on the future of sustainable British hop varieties
The aim is to find agronomically sound, exciting new hop varieties that will one day be produced commercially, using our expertise and solid grower relationships.
– These hops are put through their paces with breeding trials, agronomic tests and most importantly brewing trials and the Hop Heats is the perfect example of this
THE RESULTS
-These 4 beers were put under strict testing. Being analysed on flavour, aroma and quality as well as being asked for key descriptors
– We saw flavours such as mango, passionfruit, candy, really showing the promise of creating new world flavours within British Hops
