More Information About Azacca ® Hop Variety

Azacca ™ Hops

Azacca hops are a dynamic, American-grown hop variety known for their expressive aroma and rich character in the final beer. Named after the Haitian god of agriculture, Azacca hops are especially popular in modern hop-forward styles. With strong tropical elements and complex undertones, this hop adds serious depth to any recipe.

Azacca Hop Aroma Characteristics

When rubbed, Azacca hops release bright aromas of pine, orange and mango. These sharp and fruity elements make them perfect for dry hopping, where aroma matters most. Their strong aromatic oils help carry these notes through into the finished beer.

What do Azacca Hops Bring to the Beer

Azacca hops contribute more than just aroma—they bring complexity to the beer itself. Within the brew, you will find tropical, spicy and white fruit notes, making Azacca a great choice for brewers looking to create juicy, vibrant beers with character.

Because Azacca hops work well in a wide range of beer styles, they’ve become a staple for many breweries. They’re most commonly found in IPAs and pale ales, but they also complement saisons and wheat beers.

Brewing with Azacca Hops

Azacca hops shine in late boil additions and dry hopping. However, they can also provide moderate bitterness if added early. Many brewers combine them with other citrus-forward hops to build multi-dimensional profiles. However, they can stand alone within single-hop recipes.

In short, Azacca hops are a go-to for brewers wanting intense aromatics and rich taste. With mango and pine on the rub and tropical notes in the beer, Azacca hops deliver a truly brilliant aroma.
