Since their establishment in 1870, Crisp Malt has been dedicated to crafting the finest malted barley for brewers and distillers. This is done from their original home maltings in Norfolk, England. While their primary facility remains in Norfolk, Crisp has also expanded with additional sites in Scotland, Suffolk, Poland, and Germany. These locations collectively contribute to the production of exceptional malt for customers globally.
In 2020, Crisp Malt celebrated 150 years of excellence. This milestone marked 150 years of producing the finest malt, using both traditional and modern methods, all crafted from the best barley grown in ideal conditions.
Through our partnership with Crisp, we are able to fulfil a variety of order sizes, ranging from a few kilos to bulk truck loads. Moreover, we offer delivery options across the UK. Whether the customer is small or large, our team works closely with them to provide the technical malt support needed to make the most of Crisp Malt’s premium grains.
They combine traditional and modern malting techniques to create an impressive range of products. These include several unique and exclusive barley malts; such as Chevallier Heritage Malt and Clear Choice Malt.

The central lab in Norfolk handles all of Crisp Malt’s quality control. They analyse every load of incoming barley and each batch of malt produced. This ensures consistency and quality. These services are also available to customers. They help improve processes or troubleshoot issues in the brewhouse. Grist analysis, spent grains analysis, micromalting, benchtop mashing, and enzyme analysis are some of the lab services we offer. These services are available through our partnership with Crisp Malt.
