THE HOPWALK® ON TOUR - THE HOPPIEST EVENT OF THE YEAR
The HopWalk ® on Tour 2025 – it just keeps getting better and better
SO WHAT DID YOU MISS?
The HopWalk on Tour 2025 was the hoppiest event of the year, and a brilliant success! Across 6 days in September, Charles Faram welcomed more than 250 brewers and supplier partners for an immersive, intimate experience touring three farms, the Charles Faram production facilities, and a HopTastic® tasting competition.
Each day was filled with education, storytelling, and hoppy updates. The day started at the Charles Faram Facility, Malvern, Worcestershire. Guests toured the state-of-the-art facilities, including cold stores, FreshPak facility, and the brand-new mini pelleting machine, where for the first time in Faram’s history, small batches of hops can be pelleted into T90 format. After that whistle stop tour, everyone hit the Faram Freeway, and MC, sorry MD, Paul Corbett gave a hoppy history tour of the surrounding areas while they travelled to the first of three farms.
THE FARMS
First stop on the HopWalk on Tour 2025, Hawkins Farming – Millend, home to Charles Faram varieties such as Harlequin® and Olicana®, and traditional varieties such as Golding. Guests toured the fields, got a sneak preview of what is coming through the Charles Faram Hop Development Programme, plus heard insights from farm owner Sarah Hawkins herself! Stop two was Hawkins Farming – Cold Green Farm, where guests toured the brand-new hop kilns and state-of-the-art picking machine. Brewers had the chance to get up close and personal with the latest machinery updates while Paul, Will, and Sarah talked them through why these new machines were essential for the next generation of hop growing.
HOPTASTIC® | BEER TASTING
Onto lunch at The Hop Shed Brewery starting with some beers! The HopTastic® competition gave brewer Sarah from the Hop Shed a chance to play with 3 brand new experimental hops. Four pale beers were presented with one objective: to allow the hops to shine. Each beer was judged and a winner unveiled, with each day providing different but crucial results for the Hop Development Programme.
The final stop during the HopWalk on Tour 2025, Stocks Farm, Worcestershire, the only Worcestershire-based farm on the tour. Ali and Richard Capper took the brewers around their yards, smelling a range of varieties as they ripen, finishing the tour with a visit to the picking shed, where guests toured a very different picking machine, the Bruff, built in the 1950s and still running strong today!
The Faram Finale, all guests back at Charles Faram’s base for street food and a pint from the Faram Arms. The final chance for guests to relax, enjoy some great beers, and network while reflecting on the day with a range of our supplier partners including Murphy’s, Crisp Malt, Fermentis, and Rankin.
Thank you to everyone who attended the 2025 HopWalk® on Tour, and to all parties involved! We will see you next year with more hops and brewing innovations.
