Loral® hops are a unique American hop variety developed by Hop Breeding Company. Released in 2016, they combine the floral elegance of noble hops with the bold character of modern American varieties. Loral® hops are often described as having a dual personality—delicate yet complex.
Loral® hops offer a versatile aroma profile that includes floral, citrus, and herbal notes. Brewers use them in a wide range of styles, from lagers to IPAs. Their moderate alpha acid content allows for both bittering and aroma applications. However, they truly shine when used in late boil additions or dry hopping.
These hops contribute a refined bitterness and a layered aroma. Brewers appreciate how Loral® hops bring balance to hop-forward beers. When paired with varieties like Mosaic® or Citra®, they add depth without overpowering the malt.
Although Loral® hops are often used in modern styles, they also suit traditional recipes. Their noble-like character makes them ideal for pilsners and Belgian ales. Transitioning between classic and contemporary styles is easy with Loral® hops.
In addition, Loral® hops blend well with fruity or dank varieties. Their subtle floral notes complement bold flavors, creating a harmonious beer profile. This versatility supports creative brewing and consistent results.
Loral® hops are grown primarily in the Pacific Northwest. They show good resistance to disease and offer reliable yields. Their strong agronomic traits make them a favorite among hop farmers.
Brewers and growers alike value Loral® hops for their adaptability and consistency. With a balanced aroma and smooth bitterness, Loral® hops continue to gain popularity in both craft and commercial brewing.
