More about the recipe
Looking for a beer recipe that delivers plenty of hop character without a high alcohol content? This Session IPA combines a light, approachable malt base with a carefully selected blend of British and American hop varieties to create a balanced and flavourful beer. If British hops are key, then you can choose UK Cascade.
With an ABV of 4.0%, this recipe is designed to produce a refreshing beer that can be enjoyed as a session choice. The combination of Cascade, Jester® and Harlequin® hops brings together citrus, fruity and aromatic characteristics, while the addition of Harlequin® in the dry hop helps to enhance the finished beer’s hop aroma and flavour.
The grain bill uses Crisp Best Ale Malt as its foundation, supported by Crisp Crystal 150 and Weyermann® Munich Type 1. Together, these malts provide a balanced base for the hops, contributing colour, body and malt complexity without overpowering the hop profile.
Fermentis US-05 yeast is used to support a clean fermentation, allowing the character of the hops to remain at the forefront. The recipe has an IBU of 35 and an EBC of 10, making it a relatively pale and moderately bitter Session IPA.
